What will mediation cost?

  • I am an accredited mediation specialist and I charge £105 per person for conducting mediation information and assessment meetings (known as MIAMs) either by online video conference or face to face meeting.
  • For the mediation sessions, working with both parties, I charge an hourly rate of £105 per hour per person.
  • I do not charge for telephone calls, letters or emails.  But may discuss doing so, if some unforeseen complication arose or your case was particularly complex, although this would be unusual and agreed with you beforehand.
  • The documents that I need to work on and the production of mediation Summaries will be charged at an hourly rate of £90 per person.
  • VAT will not be applicable.
  • It may be possible for me as mediator to claim £500 under the Governments Voucher Scheme to be offset against your mediation costs (shared equally) if the mediation involves negotiations in respect of children.  Further information in respect of the Voucher Scheme can be found on https://www.gov.uk/guidance/family-mediation-voucher-scheme

The total cost incurred will depend on the type of case and complexity of the issues and overall time taken.  Usually during your initial contact chat with me, I will be able to give an estimate of the likely costs in your case.
